Baseball – League age was defined by Little League

The Tee-Ball Division is primarily designed for players league age 5 and 6; a player member who is league age seven (7) and has no prior youth baseball experience may choose to enroll at this level of play.

Rookie Division – the Rookie Division (Pitching Machine) of NBLL shall consist of player members who are league age seven (7) and eight (8). The Rookie Division is primarily designed for players league age 7 and 8; a player member who is league age six (6) and has had Tee-ball experience may choose to enroll at this level of play.

Minors/A Baseball - NEW FOR 2016!

The A Minors of NBLL shall consist of player members who are age league eight (8) and those that are league age nine (9) that have not been drafted in either the AA or AAA Minor players draft. All league age nine (9) players must participate in a skills assessment prior to the start of the season. A player member who is league age eight (8) and has had Rookie Division experience may enroll at this level of play. Players age 8 can only be placed on a A Minors team and will not participate in the skills assessment and are not eligible for placement on a tournament team.

This level is intended to bridge the gap between Rookies and AA Minors, providing younger players a more appropriate atmosphere in which to develop. Coaches focus on the reinforcement of fundamentals including catching, proper throwing motion, base running and a strong emphasis on hitting by developing proper swing mechanics. Players will also learn basic pitching skills and fundamentals at this level. An emphasis will be placed on learning the rules of baseball and strategies of the game.

The Division Director will form teams based primarily on location and school enrollment and every effort will be made to balance the player skill level equally among the teams.

9-10 Year Old AA Minor Division – The AA Minors of NBLL shall consist of player members who are age league nine (9) and ten (10) and have not been drafted in either the Major or AAA Minor players draft. All players in this league will participate in a skills assessment prior to the start of the season. The 9-10 AA Division Director will form teams based primarily on location and school enrollment and every effort will be made to balance the player skill level equally among the teams. Requests for placement on specific teams will be allowed. A player member who is league age eight (8) and has had Rookie Division experience may enroll at this level of play. Players age 8 can only be placed on a 9-10 AA team and will not participate in the skills assessment and are not eligible for placement on a tournament team.

9-11 Year Old AAA Minor Division – The AAA Minors of NBLL will consist of member players not selected in the Majors player draft. The 9-11 Minors shall consist of players who are league age nine (9), ten (10), and eleven (11). All players in this division will participate in a skills assessment prior to the start of the season and will be selected in the Minors player draft. All players in this division will be drafted every year.

10-12 Year Old Major Division – The Majors of NBLL shall consist of players who are league age ten (10), eleven (11) and twelve (12). All players in this division will participate in a skills assessment prior to the start of the season and will subsequently be selected in the player draft. If a player was selected as a Major player in the previous year, that player will remain at the major level and will go through the assessment. 100% of all league age 12-year-olds will be drafted into the Majors; exceptions will be approval by District Administrator.

Players who are league age nine (9) may be considered for the Majors. Parents must submit their request in writing to the Player Agent-Baseball by February 8.

Intermediate (50/70) Baseball - The newest division created by Little League available for players league age eleven (11) through thirteen (13). The division expands playing opportunities and bridges a transition from the Majors (46 foot pitching distance / 60 foot base path) field dimensions to the new 50/70 field dimension. In turn, the division prepares players to play at the Juniors Division on 60/90 fields by allowing leading off, pick offs, balks, and use of larger barrel bats. The division will be managed by District 2 and structured through interleague play for a 12-game minimum regular season and end-of-season tournament. This division of play allows local leagues in the Treasure Valley to participate in a division for more advanced players during the regular season. Players may be able to participate in this division as well as either a 'Majors' or 'Juniors' division as decided by league at assessments and hence earn dual eligibility for post season All Star Tournament play under either division of play (e.g., Majors and Intermediate or Juniors and Intermediate). Players must ultimately make a decision and qualify for post season play under only one division.

Junior Division – The Junior Division shall consist of players who are league age thirteen (13) and fourteen (14). NOTE: League age twelve (12) year olds are eligible for Juniors per Regulation IV.a), per Little League Operating Manual. All players must participate in a skills assessment and will be subsequently selected to teams in the player draft. The number of teams will be determined by the Junior Division director and will be based on the number of players who register for this division. The maximum number of players on a team will not exceed fifteen (15). Players that register after the regular registration dates will be placed on the waiting list and are required to go through the assessment. Every effort will be made to ensure every player who registers will have a team to play on.
